Small World

Once upon a long, long time ago, I had this little blog redesigned by the beautiful Faith at A Design of Faith and I fell in love with my blog all over again. (Speaking of Faith, she blogs here, and is expecting twins!! Exciting times for this pretty lady!) Back to storytime...

So I decided to host a giveaway to celebrate the new look of T&A.

A few days later, we had ourselves a winner winner!

Mrs. Amy picked a super cute quote for her canvas and chose the colors. The rest was up to me! I may or may not have a small obsession at the present moment with all things chevron, so it took approximately 2.1 seconds to decide what to paint for her.

Gotta love customers who say, "just do whatever you want."
It was pretty late one night when I snapped these pics, so there's ZERO natural light, which makes the peach color look a tad NEON. I promise...no neon. Straight-up peach.
Random story about Mrs. Amy...I posted the giveaway on my Facebook. She and I were not Facebook friends at that time. However, my sister was FB friends with her and she posted a link to my blog that day too. That's how Amy found me and T&A.
My dad's a preacher, and the church that he worked with and I grew up at from the age of 6 to 18, was home to a precious older couple, Mr. & Mrs. Bray. I loved them dearly. They treated me like I was their granddaughter and before long, I was going home with them on Sundays between church services to spend the afternoon. They are truly some of the dearest memories that I treasure.
Mr. & Mrs. Bray had a son, Kevin. Kevin was a High School Basketball Coach. Kevin ended up marrying Amy, and they had a daughter Bethany. Mr. & Mrs. Bray finally had their own granddaughter! Years passed, I grew up, my dad started working with another church, Mr. & Mrs. Bray would both pass away from this earthly home, and somehow through the bonds of today's social media, Amy BRAY would find this  little blog and enter my little giveaway under the name "A. Bray". After a few email exchanges, we figured out who the other one was!!
And in my own strange little way, I feel like this quote fits the Bray family perfectly. They are kind, they are generous, they have hearts made to be servants. I will admit, I teared up a little bit when I got finished with this piece...memories of so many Sunday afternoons flooded me.

I am BEYOND honored to have painted this for you Mrs. Amy and I hope you and Bethany enjoy it. I know another sweet lady who would've smiled big at it too!!

Back on May 12, right before this wedding shindig took place, across town was another wedding. This one for Stephen's friends, who have become my friends too, Matt & Ashley. I hated that I couldn't be there, but one massive family wedding just about trumps all things.
Anywhoodles, Ashley told me colors they were going to be using in their home and I whipped this up as a gift for them. I love how this turned out!
Designs like this one make great wedding gifts for all those Summer weddings on your calendar!!
And now's the PERFECT time to order.....
Today is the LAST day to receive 20% your order!!! See the Ordering page up top for info!!!

Summer Lovin'

It's Wednesday, June 20th, which means.....
Happy Summer 2012!!! Today marks the first official day of Summer, although it's felt like Summer here in TN for a while now.

I've compiled my Summer Loves list thanks to my own photos and good 'ol Pinterest. Find me on Pinterest here!!
This summer we'll spend some time on beautiful Dale Hollow Lake! Love Lake Days!!

And S & I will hit the road a couple of times to head to Georgia.
In August, S's brother, Evan will graduate from Boot Camp at Ft. Benning.
This is my Summer music choice for 2012. It hit stores yesterday...great album!
My Summer reads....yes, please. I'm on book #2. Who else is with me?!!
Dallas is my Summer TV pick. It premiered last week and oh my gracious...talk about the greed and deceit. It's pretty dang good.
There are always several 4th of July celebrations that we attend and I'm determined to take this little pretty to at least of one of them!
Our town has a "Little Patriot's Parade" for kids around the square on the 4th...it's SUPER cute! A definite must for the Summer list.
I can't leave out random family get togethers in the Summer...THE best memories are made here!!
Summer words of wisdom via Jake Owen.
The County Fair rolls into town in August. When I was little, that was my sign that my birthday was getting close. If the fair was in town, it was almost my birthday. Still true!!

Also in August, is the celebrity golf tournament hosted by the hospital I work at. All of the proceeds raised from the tournament and dinner go to various funds that help our patients who are in need of assistance. I get to "work" two days at the golf course and "work" the celebrity dinner...it's a tough gig. Last year's celebrity was former UT Football coach, Phil Fulmer. This year's celebrity is former MLB Player, David Justice, who spent most of his career with the Braves. WOOT! I'm so stinkin' excited to meet him!!
And last but not least, I have a Summer Birthday!!!!! I LOVE birthdays. And I love MY birthday! This the year I'll turn 29 and stay that way forever. Let's not talk about 30 just yet, m'kay?
What's on your Summer Loves List? Play along at Michelle and Jamie's blogs!!

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Last week, Riley wrapped up the Spring T-Ball Season. His team played in the tournaments with double game elimination. They made it to to the final night, but lost out to the Cubs. They got medals...so all is well.
But it was hard to see these sad faces.

Bringing it in one last time with Coach Bobby...GO CARDINALS!!
Friday night we had dinner with our friends Chad & Kate...I told them to bring a board game...they brought a snow cone maker. Dang thing spit ice all over the place.
 Good times though.

I tried a Pinterest recipe over the weekend for Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Squares. They're super easy and quite nutritious. Taste wise, eh, they're ok. I think I'll increase the amount of banana next time.
S surprised me with these on Friday. I love "just because" flowers.

And I made this Pinterest project several weeks ago. I love how it turned out!
Here's a little sneak peak from weekend painting jobs!
Saturday night we went to a Couples Party for our friends Chase and Taylor who are getting married later this Summer. Ohmiword. It was was sooo pretty. No pics...just take my word for it. It involved alot of burlap, alot of hydrangeas, and a barn...it was pretty great.

Sunday night I made my TV debut on the WCTE-TV Great TV Auction!! It was so much fun! Me and some of the hospital's finest manned the phone banks from 7p til almost midnight.
How did you enjoy your weekend? Let us know!!
