Layah's Birthday Paint Party

We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming blog post.

Saturday morning, I loaded up all my paint party goodies and headed over for Miss Layah's Birthday Paint Party!!

How much FUN can girls from ages 2 to 9 be? Read on my friends...
This was our sample for the party...Layah's mom wanted fun, bright colors and big flowers!

 Time to paint!
 The Birthday Girl!

I had some GREAT help from ALL the girls' parents!!
 Layah's big sis, Madyson
Some of the dads got involved even after the girls were finished.
 And Grandma's too!
Oh, the sponge "dot makers"...everyone's favorite at a paint party.

It was so warm outside Saturday, I let the canvases "bake" for a few minutes and they were ready for personalization by adding the girls' names to each piece.
Here's what I just love about art....it doesn't have to be perfect and it doesn't have to match, but in then end,  it's always beautiful because of who made it.
Watch Layah's face in these next few pics as she's opening her presents. How CUTE is this girl?!!

 Sweet faces...

Thanks so much to Layah's mom, Emily, for inviting me to come to the party & paint with the girls!
(Yes, that's a gigantic Mr. Potato Head photobombing in the background..leftover props from their recent VBS.)

Happy Birthday, Layah!!!

Choo Choo

The Christmas in July Sale is chugging right along. (obvious pun intended on the post title) Read on from posts below for more details! Time's running out...take advantage of the sale now!!

My friend Emilee is working with some other ladies to spruce up their church nursery. They're even hosting a "Baby Shower" for the Nursery this weekend...what a wonderful idea is that?!

Anyways, she asked me to paint a few signs for their project and I was happy to do so. Can you see a theme??

And after the first two were done, she decided to add one more...
Great final touch! Thanks, Em.

Big Kid School Starts Today

This kid starts Kindergarten this morning. Yes, you read that right. Kids go back to school today. They're on a "year-round" format. Go 9 weeks, off 2. (2 weeks off in October, December & March then get off 6 weeks for Summer.)

He's just my nephew, but he's mine and I'm not ready for him to be so big.
So like any good aunt would do, I've cried all morning.
 He makes me a wimp.
He would do the same to you too. Just look at him.
Love you, Riley! Happy 1st Day of Kindergarten!!!

And just so this post isn't a complete mush fest, keep on scrolling down to check out the Christmas in July Deals. The snowman deal ends this week. Check it out!!

Miss Alivia

Back a couple months ago I blogged about a "Love You Forever" canvas I did as a baby shower present for a family member. Well, since then Josh & Kelly have welcomed the beautiful Miss Alivia into the world. Isn't she a doll baby?!!! Look at THAT smile. My goodness; melts my heart.
Kelly's mom (Alivia's proud grandma) ordered a sign for baby girl's room with her name not too long after she was born. I was so excited to do another one for them!!
(Sorry for that pinkish glow....I took these pictures late one night and this is what I got. I also didn't even realize that I took the pictures BEFORE I added the ribbon. Apparently, I had lost my mind that night. Just imagine this with a light pink ribbon / bow attached to the top of it. See it? Looks pretty good, eh?)

Thanks so much for the order Bettie!! I hope Josh, Kelly & Alivia enjoy it as much as they're enjoying their new family!!

It'll be quiet here on the blog for a few days...we're heading to Atlanta bright and early in the morning to meet up with S's parents and brother, who has a weekend leave from boot camp in Ft. Benning, GA. I think everyone's a little excited to see him.

Happy Birthday to Me!! (not really, not yet)

Ok, if you follow the blog scene AT ALL, chances are you've probably seen these to die for J Crew necklaces floating around...

Bubble necklace
Yeah, drool much? I do. And I'm not a "fashionista" by ANY means...but there's something about this necklace that just makes me all googly eyed. The drawback of this little lovely is that it's $150!!!! Yeah, you just read that right.

So, me being cheap frugal with my money, obviously I didn't buy one.

I found some knock-off's on different Etsy stores and told myself (and my friend Emilee, who's my blog partner in crime) that I would be the owner of one of these before my birthday which isn't until the middle of next month. Kind of like my birthday present to myself.

Well today, thanks to the world of blogging, this blog, and this blog, that I read every day, I discovered a deal on the knock-off's on GroopDealz. I checked it out and approximately 3.7 seconds later I was ordering MY VERY OWN!!!!!!!

Pride Designs
I ordered the turquoise one!!! EEEEKKKK!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOO excited I can hardly stand it!!!

Anyways, it's a GREAT deal and I just had to share with you ladies today. Snatch one up and sing a round of "Happy Birthday to Me" to yourself as your're checking out. It'll make for a great start to your day!!
