Cramming ALOT into December 31

2010....the year that FLEW by. I look back on everything that happened this past year and just CANNOT believe it all happened. Things that happened on this day last year are just still hard to grasp a hold of. Prayers always for my cousins Kathy, Amanda & Charity on this day. The Lord will never forsake you.

This was the LAST  and I mean VERY last Christmas themed painting for was delivered on the 21st just in time for a Dirty Santa gift swap game for the Accounting deptartment at the hospital. Again...Christmas Red and Wasabi green...can't go wrong. Love the ribbon too...mainly because it's a different pattern on each side!

And yes, that's "I Love Lucy" ornaments you see...because that's my "I Love Lucy" tree!! Yep, in my kitchen, a skinny tree packed with Lucy ornaments and anything red and pink that I can find that's flashy!! It's my fun tree!

Want some sneak peaks for 2011......

And, 4 days before Christmas, my friend Jenna & her husband Jonathan welcomed their son into the world!
Congrats Medley family!!

Many many blessings to you guys & Tucker Reed!

WHEW...that was alot of randomness..but sometimes those are the best kind! Best Wishes for 2011!!! See you all next year!

The Same...but Different

My pal, Julie Wilken ordered these two for Christmas to give to her brothers' wives...for them to be the same thing....the colors make them look like two completely different pieces. Our idea turned out pretty great I think!

Enjoy Underwood families!!

Did you hear it.....

That was me about an hour ago singing a chorus of "Hallelujah" and praising the Lord above because I just finished my very last painting for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My orginal list was at 7 more that I took on over the last couple of weeks for a grand total of 50!!?!?!!

This was one of the many teacher gifts orders I had this season. Can't go wrong with "Christmas Red" and "Wasabi" green. Love that combo!

This one is making its way to a very special grandma from her grandchildren. Grandmas are suckers for stuff like this...hope she loves it!

Thank you so so so so much for all your encouragement and support in my new endeavor. It has truly been my backbone during all of this and I am honored, humbled and overwhelmed by your kindness! Much love to you all!

Visions of Sugarplums...

4 days until Christmas!!!! So much to look forward to in the coming days! Just to name a few, Big Bang Theory tshirt day at work tomorrow (COMPLETELY against dress code, but my partner in crime and i are going to do it!), watching the two sweet little nephews tear into a mountain of presents, somehow that's become more exciting than opening ones for myself.., Ma's chocolate gravy on Christmas morning, 24 hours of A Christmas'll shoot your eye out...40 Flatt family members in one house on Christmas Eve night, so many picture taking moments, and best of all....checking that final order off my list! WHOO HOO!!

But for now, I paint.

This sweet & girlie 12x12 is being shipped off to California!! Can you believe it?!
 I'm going nationwide now! haha.

LOVED how the pink on pink turned out!

A little more Christmas....I used brown in the font and the background a darker green than others I've been doing and I love the feel it gave it. A little rustic, but all warm and cozy.

The. FARTHEST. thing. from. Christmas. ever.

I'll set the scene, exactly one week before Thanksgiving, sitting at work, working away, email pops up in the corner of my screen. All I can see is "You have a date with your paintbrush." This can't be good.

I clicked to open it.

My aunt, Samantha, had spread the word about my painting in the department she works at in the hospital...and before I ever even knew it...BAM! More orders in one email than I EVER imagined. It was that email that sent me from being 22 behind the week before Thanksgiving to 43 behind!!

So I kept reading, jaw on the desk, eyes as big as dinner plates and not a thing going through my mind except, what have I gotten myself into?!? Can I really do this?? Then I saw these words on two orders, "likes camo." Are you serious!?!?! Man, these people have a whole lot more faith in me than I do myself. So, I'll admit, I put the camo ones off til the very end...because quite frankly, I was terrified! But, now they're done and personally, i think they turned out really great, considering the feelings I first had about doing them.

You can't tell very well in this picture, but I just could NOT bring myself to put ribbon on these. I mean, c' says "Russell's Man Cave"....I wouldn't have slept that night if I had put ribbon on something that said MAN CAVE!! Solution..twine. It's manly, yet functional for my purposes.

This one is for a little 1 year boy who "likes camo". I decided to make it a little different than the other...more like a little boy. I LOVE how it turned out!!

More random fun!!!

I made this one a LOOOONNNG time ago, and just realized I never blogged about it. One of my best buds, Angela wanted two signs for each of her offices. This might need a smidge of explanation...she's a school nurse at two schools in Smyrna that are across the street from each other.
She's back and forth throughout the day. OK..we're all caught up now.
Anyways, this is the second one I made for her.

And it is in its new home!!

Yes, it's from a cell phone...but I just HAD to share!!

This was FUN break during all of my Christmas paintings! Ordered by a co-worker for her children's daycare...hope she and the kiddos enjoy!!

Check back soon....I'll be sharing pics of the order that terrified me when I received it!!

Twinkling Lights

I ADORE doing Christmas paintings with the light theme. They turn out so colorful, cheerful & FUN!

FYI....I'm starting to see the light at the end of the painting tunnel. I should really update my "Orders to Fill" list on the right but I've not sat down and taken the time to update that....but it's dwindling down!!

The Secret's Out!!!

So this one was SUPER DUPER special to make. It was for my sister...only she didn't order it, and I wasn't giving it to her. Her "secret sister" at church contacted me to make Dana a canvas for Christmas.

I was more than honored and completely thrilled. It was quite the secret to keep...but I managed to keep my mouth shut, and it was EVEN harder to not blog about it! Last night was the big reveal party,, I can share what's been secretly going on.

Thanks so much, Kristie for asking me to do this! I was truly honored; and you've been an awesome secret sister to my real sister this year!!

Wasabi....not just that spicy green stuff to eat with your sushi!

This 10x20 turned out really great with my "true red" & "wasabi" green! I think Wasabi is my new favorite color! What do you think??

This is a gift ordered by a co-worker for a friend of, I hope it finds its way to its new home & is enjoyed this hoilday season!!
Enjoy, Stafford family!!
